The PSYCHOTHERAPY and PSYCHOLOGY OFFICE in STOCKHOLM SOUTH is open to individuals, personnel groups, companies, organizations and teaching institutions for:

  • supervision
  • consultation
  • lectures
  • workshops
  • seminars
  • longer education and training programs

and offers work with personnel improvement and difficulties, including conflict-solving and better collaboration strategies.

At present, The PSYCHOTHERAPY and PSYCHOLOGY OFFICE in STOCKHOLM SOUTH can consider new applicants for all of the above.

The PSYCHOTHERAPY and PSYCHOLOGY OFFICE in STOCKHOLM SOUTH is also open to individuals (women, men and adolescents). Support/treatment is available for acute problems and crises which may need just a limited amount of meetings, or for more ongoing difficulties, which could require long-term work, supportive or insightive psychotherapy.

New applicants can be considered for individual, supportive. and/or insight therapy; pair, family crisis psychotherapy and/or supportive conversations, counseling, rehabilitation, supervision and coaching.

The Director

Binnie Kristal-Andersson, Ph.D., is a certified psychologist, psychoterapist supervisor and specialist in clinical psychology and director of The PSYCHOTHERAPY and PSYCHOLOGY OFFICE in STOCKHOLM SOUTH. She is a member of the Swedish Psychological Association and the Psychotherapy Center.

For over thirty years, she has worked as a psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, lecturer and educator in Scandanavia, Europe and in war-ridden countries. She has worked with teaching institutions, county councils, social welfare services, governmental and community authorites, refugee and immigrant offices and clinics, religious and voluntary organisations and private companies/institutions.

She has supervised and educated caregivers and other individuals/groups with similar professions/work categories and psychological knowledge, or in varied groups. The most common problems and topics Kristal-Andersson has been asked to take up are:

  • stress, work-related exhaustion and burn-out
  • low self-esteem

Regarding refugees, traumatized and tortured refugees, immigants and their children, Kristal-Andersson has had many years of experience of therapeutic work with these groups. She has worked as a consultant, supervisor and educator of professionals and other carers working with these groups in Scandinavia, Europe and war-ridden countries. She has worked especially with these groups psychological and social difficulties in the new country, and with treatment/supervision of torture and trauma caused by war and organized violence.

Kristal-Andersson has organized, taught and supervised several one-year university therapy- and supportive work training programs at Åbo Akademi in Finland and at Ersta & Sköndals University in Sweden, directed to carers and others working with these groups.

In 2000, Kristal-Andersson was awarded her philosophy doctorate in psychology at Lund University in Sweden. Her dissertation is published as a book in Sweden and English ”Understanding refugees, immigrants and their children – a psychological model. (Att förstå flyktingar, invandrare och deras barn – en psykologisk modell)”(Studentlitteratur 2001).

The book examines how changes in the outer situation of the refugee/immigrant can cause inner psychological difficulties. It also describes a specific psychological model, and how it can be utilized in preventive, and therapy/supportive work the individual (adult, adolescent, child) family, group and out in society, and a year-long training program based upon the model. On the basis of commonly occurring psychological difficulties reported to her during twenty-five years of clinical research, she illuminates many aspects of the psychology of the refugee and immigrant.

Kristal-Andersson gives her supervisions, seminars, lectures and training at her office or travels to various institutions/work places in Sweden, Scandinavia and other countries.

The languages spoken are English and Swedish, with knowledge of French and Spanish.
